KDH (Kill Devil Hills), OBX NC September 2010

Thought I had put all of my beach vacations up, but I was wrong! Here are some pictures of the first time I went to the OBX.

Stayed at the Days Inn Mariner, right on the sand.

These are called Devil Purses, but they are really just egg casings.

I ate at Mulligan’s one night. I STILL have memories of the surf and turf hamburger. It was just a regular hamburger but it had a crab-cake on top. YUM!!!

I didn’t drive thru it (I have since), but I thought the Brew Thru was an ingenious concept!

Took a few shots of some of the more colorful beach houses.

Visited the Roanoke Island NC Aquarium in Manteo. It was small, but a nice diversion.

These were shot with my old camera and I must say I can see a major improvement from that one to my current one.

Yes, that is my face. Not only has my technology improved, my technique has too.

I ate at the Sugar Shack Market, lots of fried goodness, and I enjoyed the gorgeous sunset.

Have I mentioned how much I love the beach? ;-)

Nags Head, OBX NC June 2015

I was trying to find the post I did on the last time I went to the OBX (Outer Banks), but I couldn’t find it! Guess that will be my next post ;-)

I could not have asked for better weather, it was beyond perfect!

I watched this guy dig his hole for hours! Must have been several feet deep by the time he finished.

I woke up early this morning to watch the sun rise and, like always, it was refreshing and rejuvenating.

Afterwards, my friend and I drove to Oregon Inlet to a little fishing spot that she had said was good for shelling. We went at the wrong time and the water was high, but I found a few shells to add to my collection. I haven’t actually looked through them yet; I got up at 5:30am this morning and I’m just too exhausted! I’ll save it for tomorrow ;-) But I do remember finding some sea-glass!

And no beach vacation of mine would be complete without a picture of a bird and a shot of my feet in the sand!

Scout & Misty – 1 year!

I’ve been so bad at keeping up with the kittens! They turned a year old a couple of weeks ago! They still act like kittens but their little bodies have filled out more and they almost look like adult cats.

Scout is MUCH more shy than she used to be. She’s usually under the bed when I come over to visit and very rarely comes out.

But when she does come out, she stretches and rolls and LOVES it when you scrub on her whiskers.

What Scout lacks in the social realm, Misty more than makes up for! She follows me around, jumps up on tables, squeaks at me, and loves to be around people.
