Virginia Beach VA 2010

I only noticed that I hadn’t posted any VA Beach pictures until I returned from another quick trip there :) I figured I would start from the earliest trip and work my way up to now. These are just the beach pictures. I’m going to do separate posts of the aquarium and the sand sculpting competitions I’ve gone to over the years.

VA Beach is mostly known for the boardwalk. It stretches from 1st Street up to 40th Street (or so). There isn’t much to do on the boardwalk except walk and look at the beach or get something to eat. Atlantic Ave, one block over, has all of the touristy shops.

Several of the streets have art you can stop and enjoy.

The giant Neptune sculpture is near the end of the boardwalk around 30th Street.

No beach is complete without a fishing pier.

Scout & Misty – 4 months old

The kittens are getting so big! They were old enough and weighed enough to be spayed, so they went under the knife last weekend :( But they both bounced back the very next morning and all is well :)

They are still playing like crazy and have discovered the joys of paper bags (particularly jumping on top of it while there is a cat inside).

Scout still loves chewing on boxes and Misty still loves chewing on Scout.

They are both A-DOR-A-BLE!

One of their favorite things to play with are these fake flowers. They are constantly taking them away from each other.

They are so quick when then play that it is very hard to capture the silly movements and jumps they make, but I was finally able to catch them in the act!

Kittens will be kittens. They play hard and then they crash hard.

And they still snuggle with each other during nap-time.

Fripp Island SC 2007

I was digging through my vacation folder recently, dreaming of the day when I can actually take one again, and I came across some trips I haven’t posted.

One of my friends’ parents owns a condo on Fripp Island and another friend and I joined her for a long weekend several years ago. The condo faced the marsh, which was very peaceful and quiet.

You weren’t supposed to feed the deer (which we didn’t!), but you could tell other people did because they weren’t bothered or scared of us at all. There were a lot of deer…

I woke up early one morning to see the sun rise, as per usual when I’m at the beach. I was also hoping to see some turtles, but they were even earlier to rise than I was (but they left some tracks).

Oh, and this was “number 10,” the golf cart we used getting around the island. I’ll never forget you #10 :)

Scout & Misty – 3 months old

Posting weekly on the kitten’s progress is a little time-consuming, so I’ll start posting monthly. They are turning 3 months old soon, we think. They are gaining weight, their eyes have gone from blue to a yellowish-green-hazel color and their tails are getting looooooooong.

They are still playing in boxes and chasing things on strings.
